Libby is growing up

It is hard for me to say that Libby is almost 2. The words just don't form well-it has all gone so fast. I always thought people were silly that talked about how one moment their kids were little and the next they were graduating from college. But if these last 2 years are any indication, that is exactly how it happens. Libby is small for her age, but what she lacks in stature she makes up for in personality. She is ALWAYS talking, laughing, playing, throwing a fit (yes the perfect angel throws fits). She now loves to chase Animal around. She feeds herself almost all food products-we even give her a real fork. I'm glad the blog is here to record her life because I'm already starting to forget how old she was when she sat up or held a cup.

In other news, Mothers day was lovely all around. Libby has great taste and got me a blender (I love smoothies) and shoes as well as a gift certificate to get a prenatal massage!! We had a shindig for our moms here at the new house and it was lovely. We love both our moms so much and it was nice to say thank-you for all they've done for us. Once you are a mom, you are a mom forever and that is a lot to get your brain around!

The Transition

This is upstairs On the left is the kitchen and the porch is off the living area.
This is Libby's area and one of the biggest draws to the house. She has room for her mountain of toys!

Well, we have lived here for a week or so now and it is starting to feel like home. The last couple of weeks have definitely been exhausting, but we love our new house. I have some pictures, but not too many-this means that you will HAVE to come and visit to see the rest.

In other news, Libby loves the outdoors-dirt, grass, everything. She likes to dig and play ball and walk with Daddy to the mailbox. She is really growing her vocabulary and it is SO much fun to listen to her. Over the weekend we celebrated her cousin Aubree's 2nd birthday and Libby had a blast. She loved playing with balloons and eating cake. Joe continues to do well. I am 30 weeks pregnant (the most I have ever been!) and feel great.
Aubree eating her cake-she enjoyed every mouthful!
Libby liked her cake too-she even shared a bite with Mommy.

Here are Libby, Aubree and Aubrees other cousing Evalee "sleeping" on a blanket

Libby playing with a balloon and me trying to explain the difference between a ball and a balloon.

Libby in the dirt at Gigi and Pawpaw's house. I'm sure Pawpaw loves that his dirt and mulch is now on the edging, but OH WELL!

The new house

We have moved. And we love our new house. We will post pictures when I get my stuff set up!

The move was exhausting, but we all love the space that we have gained. Libby especially. She gets worn out just exploring all the new areas there are to see. Almost everything feels like home except that there is NOTHING on any of the walls-this will hopefully be remedied by next week. That's all for now, just wanted everyone to know we are still alive.

A fun trip to Charleston etc

Our weekend was jam-packed with family. Corey, Libby, Mom and I drove down to Charleston to celebrate my sister Casey's birthday and to visit everyone. Pretty soon I will be restricted from travel so I wanted to visit my grandparents and Kerri and Casey before then.

Overall we had a nice weekend. Corey got to enjoy the sunshine on the golf course with Will and we sisters got to hang out on Saturday. It was all very laid back. Libby really enjoyed being at my grandparents house too. Grandma taught her how to play cards and got out the baby that I played with as a kid. Libby liked Casey's house too-especially because she got to eat Spaghetti-O's and oreos.

I had a doc's appointment yesterday (my scanner is not letting me scan Joe pics yet) and everything looks good. Joe is already around 2 pounds 12 ounces (which is 10 ounces more than what Libby weighed at birth). He looks like Libby too-at least I think so.

Libby is a great kid, even in the car. We had a 1 hour stop because of an accident on the way to Charleston, but she was really good!
Claire and her rock star sister Sami. They look SO much alike it's scary!
Libby wanting to be part of the rock star family too. She loves Claire and Sami!
Sami playing with her feet while Libby talks on the phone. They played really nicely together!
This was taken at Gigi and Pawpaw's; They got her a wagon for Christmas and she finally got to test it outside. It's quite a workout to pull her around-at least that is what Mom said (I didn't pull much)

Outdoor and Indoor Fun

The lovely weather allowed Libby some outdoor adventures this past week. She hated grass last year, but this year she is tolerating it. She loves being outside, exploring the yard-i.e. trying to eat pine cones and sticks, and helping her Daddy clean stuff up!

The great indoors aren't so bad either now that we are packing to move (more on that later). Corey thought it was funny to let Libby sit on the shelf of our entertainment center - she was carefully watched all of you gasping moms, grandmas etc.

Libby is a great kid. She is talking SO much now. Meme and Pappy had her for one night and now her favorite phrase is "Oh My". It applies to all situations and circumstances. There are a lot of new phrases, some are intelligible and some are not.

New Camera!

Thanks to mom, I got my birthday present early and can continue to record Libby's life with photos. I'm very excited about my new camera, so there may be more posts for awhile-I'm sure everyone will hate seeing more pictures of her.
This is Libby at Gigi and PawPaw's (my mom and dad). She wasn't feeling well yesterday, but she still manages to climb all over everything. (PS Thank you Meme for the adorable outfit!)

This picture is just for Daddy-gotta love a little plumber butt!

Out of commission camera

My camera has been out of commission for a couple weeks, and I forget to update when I don't have pictures. We should have a new camera this afternoon, so new pictures sometime soon.

As for Miss Libby, she surprised us all yesterday. She took a step all by herself. It was only one step and she hasn't done it again, but that's enough for now. She was on the step and just stood up and took a step! I was AMAZED-so was her therapist. I think she was just letting us know that she can do more than we give her credit for.

Joe is also fine. He's a kicker and I think he is reminding me that he is here. We have another ultrasound scheduled in a couple weeks-I'll be 28 weeks (Libby was born at 29). I am moving into uncharted territory and it's great!

This is Joe

So this is Joe. He's 1 pound 7 ounces (Libby was 2lbs 2oz at birth) and healthy. He's extremely active and everyone has decided that he looks like Corey too. They did a 4D ultrasound and that was REALLY cool-the tech said that next time they would look even better.

Everything around the Bozic household is good. Libby continues to expand her vocabulary (now she says "High Five" and "Owl" and her favorite "Whoa"). She's progressing with her motor skills too. Everyday she is standing up more and using the furniture to get around. She's a stubborn and determined little girl and the combination is both encouraging and frustrating-she's so independent that she won't let us help her!

Easter Pigtails

Easter was good for all the Bozic clan. Libby was adorable as usual. Meme captured proof of pigtails, but by the time Libby got to church they were gone. We spent most of the day with my family-and Libby was hilarious. She learned to say Kerri (Kee) and Casey (Kay-See) and she played with Claire (of course). Her favorite thing was Claire's peep stuffed ball-which happened to be as big as she is.

Last week we went to Pittsburgh for an orthopedic appointment. Doctors are always an adventure for us, but he had nothing that new to say. The problems in her knees are due to her knee capsule (tendon in the knee) being tight and we need to continue therapy until surgery is absolutely necessary. It can be discouraging sometimes, but Libby knows how to lift our spirits. The other morning she was playing and she just stood herself up in the middle of the room without holding on to anything. She fell down within seconds, but she is determined. So therapy will continue and so will prayer. Maybe surgery won't be necessary.

I'll post new pics of Joe after our appointment this morning.

Updates on Joe and Libby!

Here is Joe's hand. We went to the doc yesterday for an ATI (check the amniotic fluid levels) and got to see him waving. He's doing great. The ultrasound tech was so pleased to tell me everything looks normal! I go back in two weeks for a growth scan because then I am 24 weeks pregnant which means viability! Despite the normalcy of my pregnancy they are still going to watch closely over Joe and I'll probably have to have an amniocentesis at 36 weeks to make sure his lungs are developed before he comes out. So his debut should be around June 20-30 ish.

Joe's feet and toes.

Libby is doing great as well she has several new quirky things that she does. She can now buckle herself into her seat, but as you can see the unbuckling is not mastered yet. She tips the chair and tries to crawl with it on her back like a little turtle. She has also mastered "Touchdown" which should come in handy this fall. Her new favorite game-instigated by Grandma Candy (or as Libby calls her Gee-gee) is fake sleeping. She will put her baby down and say "Shh" (couldn't get a pic of that yet). Then she lays down on her belly and pulls the covers up over her. This will amuse her for much longer than you would think.

By the way, we do get Libby dressed, but she does the cutest things in the morning when she is still pajama clad. She looks adorable when she gets dressed in her overalls and I put her hair in pigtails-pics of that to come.

Long time no post

We've been really busy in the Bozic household lately thus no posts. Also my printer-which transfers all my digital photos-is not working properly at the moment so no photos at the moment.

We are all well. Libby is learning new words everyday. She now says "up" and "down" really well. She gibber-jabbers a lot too, and we all wonder what in the world she is saying. She has also learned to love climbing (thank you Elliott). Now she climbs into our ottomans, onto her play table, into boxes etc. She is really good at getting in and not so great at getting out. It's mommy to the rescue on most occasions. She's a really special little girl in every way. We go to Pittsburgh this month to see a new orthopedic surgeon. Libby's knees are getting better and better, but surgery may still be an option down the line. We'll let you know after our trip.

Baby Joe is good too. He kicks all the time-especially after I eat. We get to see him again next week! This waiting 4 weeks between appointments is torturous-I feel like I lived in the POC when I was pregnant with Libby and the only good thing was that we got to see her so often.

Corey is doing good too. We are both adjusting to 12 hour shifts, but every week it gets better. I think that takes care of us - more news later.

Libby learns new tricks from Pappy

Whenever Libby goes to Meme and Pappy's house, she comes back with new "tricks." This time there was one great one and one weird one. The great one is that she can walk around (braceless) while holding only one of our hands (and this morning she was using her walker a bit). The weird one is teeth flossing. The above pictures are of her new amazing ability.

Things are still good with our family. It looks like the baby's name is going to be Joe (Joseph ___- no middle name yet). I'm feeling good and am even more excited since my friend Shawna is pregnant too!! We already have kids 9 days apart-now our second set will be 6-8 weeks apart. Yay for babies!!

More Good News

Corey is OFFICIALLY an RN. He passed his big test on Tuesday and we are celebrating!!! It's been a long road through nursing school, and we are thankful and grateful to all of you who made it more bearable.

Also Libby got a walker yesterday. She doesn't like it yet, but I'm sure she'll get over it eventually. It is the cutest thing I've ever seen because it is SO small! I'll post pics whenever I can actually get her to use it!

IT'S A... and other news from the Bozics

BOY!
Our ultrasound this morning revealed what Corey and others had already guessed. We are indeed having a baby boy this time around. Everything looks healthy and normal (who ever guessed we would be saying that about a pregnancy?). The pictures were amazing-amniotic fluid helps the resolution so we saw his features and his fingers and toes. It was so exciting! So the pink is gone and the blue is come-our families have both been waiting a while for a baby boy to be born so I think we'll be good.

In other news, Libby and I took a trip down to Charleston this weekend to visit my Grandma and Grandpa Fontalbert as well as both sisters and my nieces. Libby had a blast! She loved Grandma's house and all the newness of it. And of course Libby is happy wherever Claire is. She was also amazingly sweet to Sami-she kissed and hugged her as well as combed her "hair". It was a quick visit, but a good one.

Adjustments

With Corey going through orientation at Ruby and most of my nearest and dearest sick, Libby and I were home all week together. I love spending time with her but by Friday I was exhausted. Not only did I try to be super-mom, but super-wife. I tried three new recipes, did all the laundry, cleaned etc. And the only thing I learned was that all that made me very tired. (I know many of you out there love taking care of your homes-and I do too I just need to pace myself). Thank goodness that my in-laws had been Libby deprived and welcomed her all weekend.

Another much needed distraction last week was Elliott. They are wonderful together. Elliot is teaching Libby more words and Libby is teaching Elliott how to play pretend. I've had so much fun watching them play together. My main role being to mediate when everyone wants the same toy.

Rarely seen things

The ponytail that stayed in for more than seconds!
Libby is a HAM in front of the camera-it reminds me of her daddy and her pappy
Kisses for mommy- I love when she does this.

Libby with a ponytail and a picture of Libby and Mommy. They are rarely seen because Libby HATES to have her hair in a ponytail. She rips out the band before we can even twist it all the way around. Also since I am home with her, I am often the photographer. And when Corey is home I tend to stay looking not so camera friendly. On this particular day though I was going out to lunch with my mom and sister, Kerri. So I actually got dressed in something other than sweats and blew my hair dry. It's funny because I swore that I would always keep myself looking nice with makeup and hair etc. But having a child and being pregnant makes you tired and I am proud to own 2 sweat suits that are worn at least once a week. But it is also a wonderful day when I get ready and look nice. It's funny though, I dress Libby in sweats too-I figure she'd like to be comfy too most days. Like mom like daughter right?

What's going on around the Bozic's

Well, we've kept ourselves busy the last few weeks. We made a trip to Wheeling to spend time with our friends Liz and Ben and her parents and extended family as well. Libby did great for being in a different place.

I also had a doctor's appointment. I got to hear the heartbeat, but no ultrasound this time. Everything seems fine-except that my "morning" sickness is lingering and I'm certainly ready for that to go away. Our next appointment is in February and we will get to find out what we're having (if this baby cooperates).

Libby's therapy is going great. She continues to amaze us and her therapists. She can now walk really fast through her parallel bars and around her toys. She can also walk while only holding one of our hands or while pushing her push toy. All of these things have led Heather (her PT) to request a walker for her. We are waiting for approval from the state, and that takes awhile. The therapy tuckers Libby out though-as you can see in the picture! The braces are heavy and she's moving all the time. Keep praying that she continues to make big strides!

Also keep my grandma in your prayers. She had a pretty nasty fall last week that landed her in the hospital. She broke her arm and cracked her pelvis. They moved her to Health South yesterday, but she's still in a lot of pain. Thanks!

18 months brings new contraptions (Thank you Pappy!)

Libby turns 18 months old today. And I have to admit it has flown. This milestone was met with another piece of equipment for her therapy. This time they are parallel bars and her pappy made them (Corey's dad). They are WONDERFUL! He made them in no time flat (I called to give the go ahead on Tuesday around 6, and they were dropped off at our house Thursday around 4).

In or out of her braces, Libby is using these bars for support to walk. And she's fast! I'm continually amazed by her and her strength and determination. Every new day brings new things that she is doing! Thank you Pappy for making this great present for Libby!!

Great things in 2008!

2008 has already proved to be a good year. The Mountaineers won an outstanding game against OU, I am almost not sick anymore and Libby stood all by herself. Her braces came in on Monday, and on Thursday she is balancing well without holding on. They are heavy and she's learning to walk with them, but her standing on her own was a great gift this year. Luckily I could capture it on film!! Please continue to pray for Libby-she wants to walk and we are doing all we can to get her going! She's a determined little kid. YEAH!!
